Using PlantRant

PlantRant is a private place to talk things out: an iPhone app where what you keep grows a plant, and completed plants stay in your Garden. By using it you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live, and at least 13 years old.

Your content

You own what you record and everything derived from it. You give us permission to store, process and display your content only to provide PlantRant to you, including sending it to the processors described in the privacy policy when you turn on cloud processing. We don’t claim ownership of your content, sell it, or use it for advertising.

You’re responsible for what you record. Don’t record other people where that requires their consent and you don’t have it, or use PlantRant for anything unlawful.

Your account

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your sign-in secure. You can export synced account data or delete your account from Settings. Account export does not include local-only or unsynced Private content or local audio. Deleting your account is permanent.

PlantRant Pro

PlantRant is free to use. PlantRant Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple’s App Store and governed by Apple’s terms, including billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds:

Monthly: $4.99 per month (U.S. price; other storefronts show their local price before you subscribe).
Annual: $39.99 per year. Eligible Apple Accounts may start with a 14-day free trial; Apple confirms eligibility, and the annual price is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel renewal at least 24 hours before it does.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period until canceled. Manage or cancel renewal on your iPhone in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Canceling keeps Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Apple bills you; PlantRant never receives your payment details. If Pro ends, your moments, Garden and every plant you grew remain, including Pro plants; only Pro-only features and larger allowances stop. Deleting a PlantRant account does not cancel an App Store subscription.

What the understanding is, and isn’t

Transcripts, what a chapter heard, questions from your plant and Ask answers are produced automatically and can be wrong. They show the moments they rely on so you can check them. PlantRant is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, not therapy, and not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services.

Acceptable use

Don’t try to access another person’s data, disrupt the service, reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, or use automated means to overload it. We may suspend accounts that do.

Availability and changes

We work to keep PlantRant reliable, but it is provided “as is” without warranties to the extent the law allows, and our liability is limited to the extent the law allows. We may update these terms; for material changes we’ll give notice in the app before they apply. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app.
