Help with PlantRant

Most answers are below. If yours isn’t, write to us — and please don’t paste recordings or transcripts.

Talking and saving

Does PlantRant record as soon as I open Talk?

No. Talk opens ready. Nothing is recorded until you tap Start talking.

What do Normal, Private and Burn do?

Normal is kept and grows your plant, and can help show what keeps coming up. Private is kept and grows your plant, and is never read for patterns, people, questions or Ask. Burn is deleted when you stop and is never kept.

The microphone isn’t working.

Open iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and turn PlantRant on. Nothing you’ve saved is affected.

PlantRant closed while I was talking.

Your recording is still on your iPhone. The next time you open PlantRant it offers it back to save or discard.

Your plant and Garden

How does my plant grow?

From what you actually keep, over time. Plants never die and there are no streaks. One plant holds one chapter; when it matures, or when you close the chapter, it stays in your Garden.

What is “a question from your plant”?

Rarely, when something has come up across several days of a chapter, your plant may hold one question for a later visit. It’s optional, never a reply, and “Why this question?” shows the moments behind it.

PlantRant Pro

What does Pro add?

Understanding across your whole Garden, more Ask, five more plants to grow, and syncing your Garden across devices. Your moments, Search, and every plant you grew stay yours on Free.

How do I cancel or restore?

Cancel in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions. To restore on a new iPhone, open PlantRant › Settings › Plan › Restore purchases. No PlantRant account is needed for either.

What happens if Pro ends?

Nothing you grew is lost. Your Garden, Pro plants included, and every moment remain. A Pro plant you were growing keeps growing; you just can’t start a new Pro plant.
